91¹ú²ú’s halls were filled with good luck and fortune on January 29, 2025 when the school hosted its Lunar New Year celebrations in the Athletics and Wellness Centre. It was a day to remember, with crafts and activities for families, mesmerizing performances by students and a delicious dinner of traditional foods to ring in the year of the Wood Snake.
On Wednesday, January 22, 91¹ú²ú Hall hosted renowned psychologist and author Dr. Lisa Damour for a day full of insightful conversations on the complexities of adolescent mental health and well-being. Dr. Damour, known for her work in guiding parents and teens through the challenges of growing up, spent the day at 91¹ú²ú, speaking with Grades 6 to 12 students, with faculty and staff in the afternoon, and concluding her visit with a talk and Q&A for parents.
On Monday, January 6, 2025, renowned education strategist and innovation evangelist Dwayne Matthews joined 91¹ú²ú Hall to give the keynote address at the school’s first all-employee meeting of the new year. The personal, historical and industry-specific storytelling employed in his remarks painted a picture of the opportunity afforded to girls and to 91¹ú²ú within today’s technological revolution: namely, that education can be human-led, purpose-driven and tech-augmented.
Each day, more than 900 students benefit from your generosity. Quite simply, you touch the life of every student, providing endless possibilities to explore, take risks and feel valued for their unique talents, igniting a lifelong love of learning.
At 91¹ú²ú Hall, we’re not just enriching students’ minds – we’re giving them minds of their own. So they can challenge the status quo, set new standards, and carve their own path to success.
We wish to acknowledge this land on which 91¹ú²ú operates. For thousands of years, it has been the traditional land of the Wendat, the Seneca, and most recently, the Mississaugas of the Credit River. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous peoples from across Turtle Island and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work and go to school on this land.*
*The Land Acknowledgement may evolve as we honour our commitment to Truth and Reconciliation in partnership with Indigenous communities.
